About the Client
Cummins Inc. is one of the world’s best-known names in power technology, with a history dating back to 1919. From its beginnings in Columbus, Indiana, the company has grown into a major international organisation, designing and manufacturing engines, power generation systems and related technologies for customers across transport, construction, industrial and commercial markets.
Today, Cummins operates around the world, supporting customers in approximately 190 countries and territories through an extensive network of facilities, distributors and service locations. While the technology has changed enormously over more than a century, the company has remained focused on engineering, innovation and developing reliable power solutions for some of the world’s most demanding applications.
What the Client Needed
Our work with Cummins has never been about delivering the same thing twice. With product launches, conferences and exhibitions taking place across Europe, Asia and America, they needed a digital partner who could turn their hand to a wide range of projects, work comfortably alongside other suppliers and meet some very tight deadlines.
For the launch of the Cummins Euro 6 product range, the requirement was a bespoke website that brought together designs from an external agency and animations supplied by a production company. This called for close collaboration between everyone involved, with Tektonic handling the technical build and bringing the different elements together.
Exhibitions presented a different set of challenges. Cummins needed iPad display software that could be prepared and distributed to events around the world, with remote updates allowing content to be managed without having to be there in person. Behind the scenes, they also needed a practical way to track and manage their exhibition assets.
Alongside this, there were multilingual conference emails with an invitation and reply system, product launch websites to build and host, and ongoing systems to maintain. Cummins needed more than a supplier for a single project. They needed a team they could come back to as requirements changed – one that understood how they worked and could provide a fast, flexible service built around their needs.
Throughout our work together, the need has remained much the same: a team who can get to grips with the brief, work through the practical details and get things delivered. Whether supporting a major product launch or preparing for the next exhibition, Cummins needed Tektonic to fit into their workflow and make the digital side of each project easier to manage.
